also, look up at the main navigation tabs for ‘chant resources’. As we go on, I’ll curate those resources and DELETE these. You should have access to the transliteration and full mantra for your own use in future, but the adyayanam is something received in real time/real relationship/actual place.

Monday October 2

Whoo hoo! All the way through the presentation of the Bhū sūktam. Which is not the same thing as you are good at the thing. Just that you have received all of the presentation. Now, you just keep practicing a little bit everyday.

Monday September 25

Using all the previous recordings and learning tricks (say it in pieces. hum the tune. look for the up and down notes, etc). put together a learning session appropriate to you for 15-20 minutes, at least four times this week.

Monday September 18

introduction to 11-13, revising everything that came before.

Monday September 11 -

working to get mantras 1-6 to recording for me:) taking a little peek at 7-10. There are some delicious, momentum full, windswept and addicting parts in here. Let that be fun. Get into it. But get into it with attention and precision.

repeat the first recording of small parts a couple of days. It will be weird and clunky and is supposed to be. Then, move on to the lines. Stay with that recording for several days. Try to have worked with both recordings by next Monday.

As I said this morning: there is so much possible ceremony to this time of year. If you were simply to work on the singing and notice the fall, you’d get the whole teaching. If you want, add the art of self care. Or reading about earth. Or harvesting. And nesting. Get real. Which means sit down and acknowledge, which moves us into gratitude.

*please be aware that I am planning to make these courses reflect the value of my labor and their intrinsic value. Generally, courses teaching a mantra such as this value at around $100. I am still working out how to possibly do this and still provide access for those who truly need financial support. I’m basically giving them away for free now, which isn’t fair to either me or the mantras. If you could throw me some support (PayPal), please do.

We will meet Monday mornings 7 am CST beginning in September to learn the Bhū and Nịla Sūktams. These are traditionally part of the daily five mantras, and call us to remember and celebrate the earth, place, our bodies and ordinary activities as being the context for any and all spiritual, intellectual, and personal growth. As we learn this hymn we’ll be going into harvest season and autumn in the northern hemisphere, moving from the ease and busyness of summer to the cloister and long nights of winter. The autumn equinox will happen, and the light will swiftly change. The produce will change, the migrating birds will gather, the leaves will drop. I encourage you to see this as a season of celebrating what you’ve been given and preparing yourself for what is to come. I mean this literally: celebrate a thanksgiving or harvest festival, and do some nesting and gathering for the winter months ahead.
