Hello! I will be closing this space down in June as we shift our activity to the Yoga Club Mighty Network. I’d love to have you join us there! There is NO COST to join, and I’ll be hosting live things and providing resources. Within, however, you can choose to purchase things like chant courses. And the whole time you have the ability to connect and interact, which is lacking here.

This is why I like Mighty Network: it's a place where conversation can co-exist seemlessly with my 'content’.

  • I can host multiple courses (ie sūtras and chanting) with less mess and disconnect.  People can join what they want, and not receive noise from what they don't.

  • I can set different paywalls.  Everyone can join and participate for free (good).  If they want more, they can opt in.  Current set up does NOT allow for no-pay options.

  • I can host different KINDS of things.  For example, I can host cohort learns like ours, and content like old videos, and a live get together when the world is crazy and we need a community gathering, whatever I want.  Websites and course platforms don't allow for this whatever I want.

  • I can host a general 'feed' for yoga teachers.  A place to ask questions, share resources, ask about a training or what to do about an ethical dilemma.  Hive mind opportuntities.  Support.  I can at any time host an event or pop up a little course, article, whatever.

  • Its hidden - a little sanctuary from the insanity that is the internet.  No trolls, no spam, no adverts.  The magic of social media and internet - and there is magic to it - without the toxins.

  • Please feel free to join and chat it up.

 Hiya.

Yoga āsana classes are easy to find. Finding deeper teaching tends to be a little harder. I am offering this stuff assuming you can access yoga āsana online or in a favorite studio: I don’t need to produce content because there are thousands of other people doing it. What I offer is a bit more specialized, personalized, and traditional. I’m happy to make suggestions for diverse āsana teachers and can probably think of someone who is right up your alley. No teacher is right for everyone. I know some geeky anatomy and deep postures teachers, but I also know folks who lead chanting and meditation. I believe finding a teacher who shares your identities is often key. Just ask.

Traditionally and at its best, yoga āsana are things that you cultivate your own relationship to. They are a SUPPORT to your yoga, not definitive of your yoga. You do it at home. In your own body. Not with a video. A teacher guides your study but you do your own practice. Something profound happens when you make the shift from guided studio classes to a personal practice. You discover things about yourself. You get intimate with the concepts. Questions and revelations bubble up. You begin to realize you can guide yourself. You can trust yourself.

This is huge. This is the whole point. This is yoga.

When you have a personal practice and the support of a mentor, your practice is ever opening: it’s āsana, sure, but it also includes directed learning. Your practice might open to include restoration, meditation, text or mantra study, different personal reflections.

Use this as a resource. Not a bible.

Plug it in as you need. I am happy to mentor and work with any body. I might have an idea of which videos + personal practices might work for you.

I am focused on writing, teaching philosophy courses, and 1:1 work with folks. I am not focused on producing content for this site. I will slowly add to the seasonally curated sections, and I will provide a weekly techniques session, but I am not delivering “content” here.

xo,

K
